Does PWN spindles work forward and reverse Direction
Yes, provided your controller accepts the commands and is wired for it when trying to get it to work with automatic spindle control
Yup, it sure does. Within our control-cable, pin 4 is our CW trigger while pin 5 is our CCW trigger. These are both digital inputs that come pre-programmed for these to specific functions. However you can reprogram them for other available functions like e-stop if you wish.
Our v4 enclosures had pin 5 programmed to e-stop while our v5 enclosures (sold since BF’23) has pin 5 programmed to CCW by default.
You can learn more about our PWM control cable here: Other PWM Controllers - PwnCNC
Hi @Daniel, I just got my PwnCNC stuff hooked up. Everything is working great except the spindle only turns in the counter clockwise direction (but when turning on CW). Turning on the CCW button does nothing. I’m using all PwnCNC cables, VFD, etc. Is there a chance something is wired incorrectly?
Hi Patrick,
Looking at your profile, I see you have a Onefinity Buildbotics and Masso controller.
Which one are you referring to that is having the problem?
If the Masso, can you send me a picture of the wiring inside Masso g3 unit?
For both: can you also check parameters P0.0.06, P2.0.01, and P2.0.02?
- To check them hit the “mode” button, P0.0.00 should be blinking.
- Use the up and down arrows to change the blinking character, and the double right arrow to change the character.
- Press “Enter” to view the parameter
- Then enter again to accept it where it will automatically go to the next parameter.
The last part of the puzzle that I think it could be is the wiring, either from Masso to the VFD or the spindle cable for either controller.
It’s not impossible to be the wiring inside the VFD, but it is unlikely. I do have a solution, but we’re more interested in the cause.
Hi @Chris, thanks for your response. Sorry for the delay in responding…just got out to my shop.
It’s the Onefinity Elite Foreman with Masso G3. Pics of wiring attached.
For the PwnCNC VFD parameters:
- P0.0.06 = 0
- P2.0.01 = 02
- P2.0.02 = 21
Thanks for your help!
Hi Patrick,
My bad, I meant p2.0.00 and P2.0.01, don’t work off memory.
P2.0.01 & P2.0.02 are correct though.
As far as the spindle wiring goes, on the spindle side it is looks as Onefinity sent it. I would suggest disconnecting the blue wire. If you want to be able to command ccw, plug the white wire in.
