PwnCNC Spindle Wrong Direction

Hi @Chris ,

I tried responding to your comment but the forum says since I am a new user I can only reply to a thread a max of 3 times so I cannot reply there. Hence the new post.

Sorry for the delay, been out of the country for the past 2 weeks. I checked P2.0.00 and it’s set to 01.

If I understand correctly, I can disconnect the blue wire, plug the white wire in its place, and then the spindle will rotate the correct direction. Is that right?

Thanks.

I ended up opening the VFD and swapping the yellow and green wires. Works correctly now.

Not sure if they were swapped from the factory or if I have some other issue, but this is working.

Here is an explanation to the trust levels

That is not correct, assuming your referring to the blue wire in pin 7 and the white wire floating around (See link below). It will only enable ccw, m4 command vice m3, and you would have to update your post processor for that. Long story short keep reading for solution…

I would advise you to switch them back because i don’t know exactly which wires you’re referring to, and i fear one of them was ground.

After switching it back change p0.0.06 = 1

Thanks @Chris,

The blue/white wire solution I may have misunderstood from your post here: Does PWN spindles work forward and reverse - #9 by Chris

The yellow and green wires I’m mentioning were inside the PwnCNC VFD internal wiring (pic below). The picture was taken as found from the factory. Swapping them fixed the rotation issue.

If you think it’s still a problem, I can swap them back and change the VFD setting you mentioned.
