PwnCNC VFD Settings on OneFinity Masso

I bought a spindle kit from PwnCNC back a few months ago and they sent it and the cable ready to connect to an AltMill via the Modbus connection. I used it on my Openbuilds unit with a Sienci Super Longboard Controller and it worked flawlessly.

I changed my mind about buying the AltMill and bought a OneFinity Journeyman Elite with the Masso controller. I bought the dual female GX12 6 pin cable and connected to the PWN port on the VFD and the bottom of the Masso unit. After entering the correct values in the Masso spindle setup section when I enter an RPM up to 24000 and choose “run” I get values in the VFD display from 0 to 10 but no movement in the spindle.

I am thinking this is a simple fix of changing some entries in the VFD since it was initially setup for another machine. Rather than poking around and chance making things worse I thought I would post a message to see if anyone can let me know if this is the case and what entry or entries that I need to change in the VFD to make it work with the Masso.

If you add an M3 command?

Please reach out to support@pwncnc.com
The VFD Programming to make it work via Modbus with the AltMill’s SLB is only slightly different than the programming needed for Masso and PWM.
The cable is part of the answer, the rest is changing P0003 and P0004. I don’t have them handy with me right now, however email in and we can get you the correct values to make it PWM controlled again.

Thanks Daniel. I did reach out and have a support ticket. Nick called me Tuesday evening but I didn’t answer because of not recognizing the number. I called him back Wednesday night and left a message but haven’t heard back from him yet thus the post on the forum. If you get time to get me those changes in the VFD I would much appreciate it. I am familiar with how to change the numbers.

I tracked down your ticket now that i’m back in the room and have responded with a fair amount of detail so you can get your setup switched from AltMill/Modbus to Masso/PWM

Thank you for being patient with us.

Daniel,

Thanks so much for the quick reply.

When I get to the P0.0.04 entry it will not let me choose 2. It starts at 1 and skips to 3. Is there another setting that needs to be changed to get the 2 to appear?

Rick

I thought P0003 is 2 while P0004 is 9

I got an email from Nick that had all the correct settings and once I changed two entries of 3 and 4 it worked just fine.

This is for a PWM controlled 400Hz motor.
