Wrong Direction

I have been working on completing the install of my PWNCNC Advanced conversion kit. I have got it to home perfectly, but when I go to run a file it slams to the left of the x axis and the bottom of the y axis. It is almost like it is trying to go in the wrong direction. I tried inverting and that caused more problems. I now have everything back the way it should be, but I can’t get it to run in the correct location. After I zero X and Y the numbers showing on the x axis do not correlate to its real time location, causing Masso to think it is farther behind than it is. I have been dealing with this for two days. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Could it be a problem with your file, ie your orgin point is not what your expecting it to be… that happens to me occasionally.

If you were to jog it, is it moving in all the right directions (x, y & z)

Yes, it is moving in all the right directions. I was wondering if it might be the post processor? I am on a onefinity journeyman, but am using the Masso G3 post processor. When I move it the numbers on the x axis don’t make sense where it is. I measured it once and on the screen it said it was at 20 inches, when in reality it was at 36 inches. I thought maybe there was some weird offset somewhere, but I checked and I have zero offsets loaded.

Do this and let me know…

I would probably get it close first so measure 12" in both directions and have it programmed via the stepper calibration gui

I use a highly modified g3 post processor

Did you check the dip switches on the motors? Sounds like they could be set i correctly.

You can use the MDI (manual data input) to write in some basic movements, and observe the machine behavior. Might help diagnose if its a post processor issue or not.

Good call Mike. Dip switches / motor resolution first… calibration second

Thank you for the advice. I did find that the dip switches were in the wrong direction and now its no longer hitting the bottom of X and Y.
