Rotary Location/Orientation

On the Masso Configuration Page, the docs say:

Note that we have setup our rotary’s headstock on the right and the tailstock on the left. You may need to check the “Invert Direction” checkbox if you put the headstock on the left.

This sounds like the rotary needs to be mounted across the X-axis. However, the mounts for the rotary happen to line up with the T-track on the Shapeoko 5 Pro’s Y-axis.

Can the rotary axis be set up to run along the Y-axis instead of along the X-axis?
Is this just a “no big deal” that I need to set up in my CAM software and I’m overthinking this?

Yes, it can. Depending on your CAD/CAM software you may need a special post processor file.

That’s fantastic news. I’ll learn more about how to make Fusion do this. Thanks!
