VFD Keypad Mount for Masso installation

I have a Masso conversion of a Shapeoko and I’m just getting around to mounting the VFD keypad on it. Unfortunately, the keypad mounting bracket from pwncnc is thick enough that it obstructs some of the aircraft connectors.

is there a workaround for this?

They keypad predates the back piece, and it’s possible they don’t work together.

Personally i use a surface mount, attached to my table, and my masso in landscape mode… but what if you plugged the wires in then slid the masso mount behind them. I imagine it might take some pursuasion, and i wouldn’t want you to break anything, so don’t use excessive force.

It doesn’t solve the problem at hand because you’ll need to remove the masso mount to open the unit if and when you feel the need, hence why I’m using the surface mount.

I know Daniel is working on a solution and I have a prototype of the mount and I created module to mount my VFD keypad as well as a button to turn on/off my Led light strip for under the x gantry on my Dominator. I will shoot him a message and see if he is ready/wants to talk about/ unveil it. It a a really slick solution and one that offers opportunities for customization.

One of the fine support people suggested using either the 3M Dual Lock or one of the similar products, which I happen to have a bunch of. It works great to keep guitar pedals attached to pedal boards - it works well because guitar pedals are prone to accidentally being kicked into orbit by morons like me. Plus I know it holds up well because it’s the same stuff that holds my toll pass to the windshield.

That’s a great point about moving the mount by hand if I need to open things up. Double stick tape for the win!
