VFD display continues to blink after VFD power switched off

That pretty much explains it. I don’t remember this happening the first 6-8 months of use. May have started with Masso software update to v5.07 but that is speculation.

I do not have the display remote mounted.

Any insight or suggestions will be appreciated.

Mine does the same thing @jim72023, but I think it always did. When the Masso is off, or when the Masso isn’t sending a single for the spindle to run, the VFD is not in “run” mode (red run LED). To me it seems consistent that the flashing will occur whenever the spindle is not running.

  • VFD On, Masso off: Blink ~337.6
  • VFD On, Masso on (homing not complete): Blink ~337.6
  • VFD On, Masso on (homing complete): Blink ~337.6
  • VFD On, Masson On, Tap Spindle CW: No Blink 420.
  • VFD On, Masson On, Tap Spindle Stop: Blink ~337.6.
  • VFD On, Masson On, Tap Spindle CCW: No Blink 420.
  • VFD On, Masson On, Tap Spindle Stop: Blink ~337.6.

I would like to learn more about the LEDs on the VFD. Previously I only found the print copy of the manual for $1. I just don’t want a print copy. Your question caused me to search again and I found a PDF. I wish the $1 product page had a link to that support document. Now that I have the PDF I can dig into understanding the VFD user interface.

Nice find. I hadn’t seen that manual.

The biggest issue for me is that I have my VFD in a location that’s difficult to reach, and I can only see the side opposite the switch. I wanted to rely on the display to indicate if the main VFD power switch was on or off. I’d really like it if that switch was on the front or easily remote mounted (without tearing the VFD apart.)

Of course we have our various keypad and MOS relocation products here: Search: 13 results found for "keypad" – PwnCNC

But if you guys wanted to know i actually leave my VFD turned on all the time. I have several machines in the garage, each with either an ATC or spindle attached and they all have blinking VFD keypads right now cause i leave them on.

You might consider something like this: 110V Single Phase On/Off Switch, Ortis Router Table Switch with Large Stop Sign Paddle Easy Contact for Quick Power Off for Table Saws and Other Electrical Equipment: Amazon.com: Tools & Home Improvement
It’s an e-stop paddle that it says can handle up to 15amps. This is perfect since the 110v vfd pulls 12amps at max load.

This could be positioned in a far better position than angling the VFD in just the right spot.
