Tool Setter Programming

Issue 1. I do not see “Tool Setter” in the wire programming instructions in F1 of the MASSO screen, so I cannot tell the MASSO what the black and white wires are for. I did as Chris did, I put the black wire in input 3 and the white wire in input 4. Below are the instructions from the web site:

Next up is telling your Masso controller what the inputs mean.

Black / Input 3 = Tool Setter (be sure to invert the input by pushing the space bar)
White / Input 4 = Cycle Stop (be sure to invert the input by pushing the space bar)

Issue 2. I cannot get my tool setter set up properly. I followed the instructions for the MASSO, but when I double tap “Homing”, it homes, then goes to the tool setter position, but doesn’t stop when it makes contact with the tool setter.

Do I need my ATC before the tool setter will work properly? I won’t have that until this summer.

Did you hook up the yellow and red wires to one of the power terminals?

Yes. Chris helped me and it works now.

The solution was he needed to mark the tool setter input from Onefinity as not used, then can reallocate it to another port

I had the same problem until I read this post. Maybe add this step to the Tool Setter instructions.

you mean like this?

Question; Reading the Note, do I need to set input 2 from “cycle stop” to “not used”?

Maybe.
The cycle we have found out cannot be combined. if you want to you could, but you would lose all functionality of the red button (not the estop) on the face of the g3 touch.
Based on memory (which isn’t that good), the tool setter is normally open, and the cycle stop is normally closed, therefore can’t be combined to the same one. We have a request in with masso to allow for a secondary cycle stop input, but no idea if that’ll come to fruition.
If you want to wire it in, again you’ll lose feedhold (cycle stop) functionality on the face, but you’ll have it at the tool setter, and it can serve as a secondary e-stop if you want to think of it that way.

Personally, for my setup, the white wire is not connected, and its fine.
