Tool-Setter vs Touch Probe for Onefinity MASSO

I am having a hard time aligning my bit after changing from one bit to another. I don’t know if I need a touch probe so the MASSO knows where the work piece is or not. Not sure what the tool-setter does. It seems I have to zero the bit over the work piece when I change the bit, but the MASSO does not make the next cut in the proper place on the work piece. HELP!!

Hi Mark,
I believe I responded to your ticket a few minutes ago, but they hold 2 seperate functions.

The tool setter will adjust the offset of the z when the surface has been cleared away.

The probe will give you an initial XYZ Zero.

It’s like a table saw vs a miter saw. Both are saws, but they have seperate functions and uses.
