S5Pro Masso Retrofit with PwnCNC ATC

So I have commented here and there on various retrofit posts as I did my own machine. My retrofit include the risers to give a little more height for my cnc. I recently did upgrade the changes for rigidity on the S5Pro to make it a 5.1.

Then I decided to order the PwnCNC ATC. As I was doing that I found that I didn’t have enough Z height for ISO20 tool holders while using the new numbered magnetic cups. Well, I am so glad that Carbide3D added the ability to use the front bar with threads. I designed up a file that pays homage to what @Daniel did for the dominator for a front mount ATC system.

I did a quick print in PETG to test out after modeling it, and it worked!

Not likely the final design, but will print 8 of these so I can start playing around with the CNC tomorrow. Just thought I’d share. Don’t mind the loose screws as I was just doing this as a test fit before I print these out in my preferred color. I also have my INDX founder’s edition showing up, so it will be a busy weekend. Thanks all!

That looks great and is something I will definitely consider when I put my Shapeoko 5 Pro back together after our most recent move. I ordered the 5.1 stiffeners so hopefully they should arrive soon.

I have liked them quite a bit. I do feel it is quite a bit more rigid. I am working on designing some drawers on the right side of my machine since I have access to it. We will see if it all comes together.

I made the support a bit more beefy, but still not the final design. It feels nice and sturdy. Added some heat set inserts and got them all put on the machine!

I also tested manual tool changes and it all worked without issue. Need to set up the tool changer in the MASSO now to try some automatic tool changes.
