ATC tool change ideaa

I used PWNCNC 1 1/2" riser blocks to raise the elite up. I used a torque wrench and 1/4-20 bolts to secure it through a 3" torsion box. I used the probe to adjust the tension of the bolts by measuring the difference and the torque wrench to get all four corners to within. 001 of each other. About 30 minutes work.

This allowed me to get the clearance for the tall toolholders.
I’m holding on proceeding until i have the ATC spindle mounted.

I’ve also designed a clip system and may proceed with that line of thought. I’m going to use a pneumatic cylinder and limit switches to move the tool rack into the spoilboard area.

Just some thoughts, not an original idea by any means, many others have gone this route, at the present I’m ignoring dust collection and concentrating on just this task. I will add a automatic dust boot as soon as i have this portion working.

We’re investigating forks as one of our options. I recently found out the values for making it move in different directions.
The way you have it though (along the X) would hit the z independent boot when it goes to the next one.

Given how you have it, it would stop shy, go down, slide back, pick up, move over (in a straight line) go down, grab it, move forward, move up, then charlie mike

I havent been able to upload my resulting videos to youtube yet otherwise I would have uploaded the results of my tests here.

Looking forward to those video’s, I will explore this a little deeper.
By the way, I’m using the Beta Version, if that makes a difference…
