Note-to-Self Don't use Copper heating elements in a Deoxidizing bath!

It took roughly a week to completely desolve this Copper water heater element and the bath was hard at work eating away at the steel bushing.

Caught it when plugging in the heater and seeing sparking at the bottom of the bath. Moved the bath to our spare dye tank and found this.

We’ve ordered another tank so we can not cut any bulkheads into it. The DeOxidizing/DeSmut bath can be run between 70-110.. we were heating it up to 110v but we’re going to try not to heat it in this spare tank and run a few parts to confirm.

If necessary when the new tank arrives, we’ll find an appropriate teflon drop-in heater instead of an installed-heater.
