It’s taken far longer for me to get to this point than I had originally planned, but we are finally here.
All of the tanks have been filled with RODI filtered water, all but the anodizing tank has been filled with their matching chemicals.
Tonight I’m printing a few support blocks for the copper grounding rods that’ll hover over top of each tank:
These blocks allow for perfectly aligning and holding the rods in-pace.
These rods is what parts are hung from as they sit inside each chemical bath.
The parts will hang from titanium wire that came with the kit with loops that’ll hang on these rods like coat hangers.
For the anodization bath, the wire will have the positive wire attached while the negative is attached to the lead plates that sit along side the parts within the water/acid bath.
Tomorrow I’ll be cutting/mounting the lead plates, pouring 5gallons of battery acid into the 15 gallons of RODI water currently sitting in the tank.
After that… it’s time to run my first part!
For all of you who have purchased our Dominator CNC.. thank you so much for your patience and the generous timeframe you’ve provided us to bring this project across the finish line. All of us are learning so much. We have so many plans for so many more projects that’ll utilize this anodization line. We even have an extra dye tank in here for us to make yellow parts ![]()
