MTC button is not working... KB looked at

Hello, I have just finished installation of the ATC system on my 1F Elite. Moving to this from a router has been a steep learning curve, but I think (thought) I had it all working. Turns out the MTC button isn’t working right.

First, I ran through this article: MTC Button not working - PwnCNC

But everything checks out.

  • RUN cable between VFD & PE is connected.
  • PE is on and has a light
  • and the MTC button correctly lights up & turns off depending on the run state of the spindle. Light is on when spindle is off.
  • P2.0.29 is set to “1”

When I press the button there is an audible click sound. When I release the button a puff of air comes out the empty “Add’L” air port on the side of the PE.

I thought maybe I messed up my output 7/8 wiring, but if I go to F1 Masso screen and toggle the output 7 (chuck) item with space bar it releases & accepts a tool. [I’m sure there is some mdi cmd for this but I don’t know it yet, so ghetto mode until then]. So yeah, hitting space bar there turns on/off the air at the spindle for the tool (in my mind) correctly.

As far as I can tell everything is working but the MTC button. Spindle turns on and off from the Masso (& manually). I can manually tool change from the Masso, mentioned above.

What else can I troubleshoot on the MTC button? Or what ‘doh’ moment am I having?

Thanks,
-rod

p.s. I haven’t installed my tool holders yet, so none of that location setup has been completed in Masso yet. I also haven’t run an actual job with the spindle installed. I’m just testing basic functionality at this point.

Can you send an email to support@pwncnc.com

In there, a video of your f1 screen, connections, and a demonstration both with the mtc button not working and either inverting the chuck clamp output or press and hold for 3 sec spindle clamp on the mdi screen then press again to stop the air.
