Maximum cutter diameter

I ordered a 2.2kw water cooled spindle and am awaiting shipment. In the meantime I am looking at purchasing a spoil board flattening cutter. Is there a maximum recommended cutter diameter I should stay under?

Thanks,
Andy

Max I’ve heard is the Slab Slayer at 2-1/2" diameter, and I’ve seen a couple videos of people using it with our 2.2kw.
I have a 1.5kw and keep it 1-1/2" or 1" I don’t remember which so I don’t have personal experience with the slab slayer.

Daniel’s got quite a collection of surfacing bits he wanted me to share with you. A couple unused

Thanks Chris. That Slab Slayer looks interesting. If a 2-1/2 " insert cutter won’t tax the spindle or prematurely wear the bearings then I’m inclined to buy a larger size.

It will probably come down to an Amana RC-2263 or the Slab Slayer.

I use this for surfacing workpieces. I have a couple of different bits for surfacing the wasteboard but I save this for planing/jointing.

I have the Yonico here at the house. The pictured collection chris shared is our warehouse collection

Thanks for the replies. I wound up ordering a Slab Slayer but will keep the Yonico in mind as I build my bit collection.
