Speeds and Feeds for Oak

I have my new OneFinity up and running with my PwnCNC spindle. I need some practical advice from those of you with real CNC experience. I am using a 1/4 downcut bit from Bits n Bits (DNC250) to cut through 3/4" oak. I am, yet again, going through bits really fast. I am running it at 16k RPM and 140 in/min according to the BnB specifications. I am cutting 1/8" each pass.

A similar Freud bit will run at 300 in/min or more according to their speeds and feeds data.

I was running a Freud 3/8" downcut bit on my old CNC Shark with a 1/2" shank but the Shark cannot support anywhere close to recommended speeds. The entire thing bends and warps when I run it too high. Scary to watch but it was kinda awesome.

What would you recommend would be the best combination of bits and speeds based on your experience? My goal is to be able to cut through 150 feet of 3/4" hardwood material a day without having to replace my bits so often. At least the Freud 1/4" downcut bit was on sale on Amazon yesterday.

By no means am I a CNC expert (more like the crawling stage) but I have been using the G-Wizard from the www.cnccookbook.com to calculate my feeds & speeds. It has been pretty reliable for me so far, you may want to check it out if haven’t already.

I found out that I was running too aggressive (burned-up a router) but once I found the sweet spot for my bits and motor, everything is firing on all cylinders now.

That is very helpful. Thanks for the info!
