Just bought 2.2kw water cooled 220v spindle with 110v pond pump, wrong?

Just bought 2.2kw water cooled 220v spindle with 110v pond pump, was this wrong - will the controller be able to supply power to pump when activated or should I have bought the 220v version ?

The 110v is correct as long as you are in the U.S. or Canada. The water pump doesn’t plug into the VFD-Enclosure. It plug into either a normal 110v outlet or if you want to control it automatically you can use a IOT relay.

Answered my own question , need the IoT to control the water pump and vacuum. I am getting very excited about my new system

May thanks for your response, i just did my homework and found that out, my apologies for not being more diligent in the initial research ! I ordered everything i needed for the IoT. TY

If you have the Onefinity Elite power supply and the Masso controller, you can plug your pond pump into the power supply and add an M8 command at the beginning of your code (if the post processor you’re using doesn’t already do it for you) and an M9 at the end and it will automatically turn on and off. I’ve been using it with no issues.
I’ve also wired in a hall effect flow sensor (from Koolance) so that the system will stop (including the spindle) if the coolant stops flowing during an operation.

hey good morning. are you plugging the pump on the spot that is for the vacuum on the power supply for the elite? if not, where exactly are you plugging it?. I thought about doing that but was not sure

No, plug it i to the IOT powerstrip. Both the vacuum and the pond pump. That way both come on and go off with the spindle.

That’s what I do. It’s plugged into the power supply. Like I said, I’ve edited the machine prefix gcode to include an M8 command. It automatically starts the pump when the spindle starts. Additionally, I can also stop and restart the pump on the Masso with the Coolant Flood button.

Due to the ease, we have experienced a few people who inadvertently turned it off. The iot strip its hard to do that without noticing, especially if you have a dust collector or vacuum attached to it as well
