I bought an Elite 2 Journeyman and it arrived at the end of February. Out of the box, it had issues. The X Axis bearing grinds/crackles like metal on metal. Support was quite an ordeal and when I posted on the official OneFinity forums they censored the forum topic.
I made a video and put it on YouTube and then other users started coming forward with the same issues. OneFinity has since uncensored the post and we’re up to about 4-5 people now reporting similar problems.
I ran a search for 1F support issues, censoring, to see if anyone else had a negative experience like mine and I found this forum.
Apologies if I am posting off topic or in the wrong place. I am trying to find other people who have had OneFinity issues and direct them to the topic. I am getting a replacement rail and want others who bought Gen 2s who have bad bearings to get their replacements.
After my YouTube video gained a little traction 1F caved and uncensored the post.
I’ve had both a great experience (they swapped out my masso) and then several poor experiences with 1F. We had a topic in here to vent shortly after they released their version of the spindle we use, but it became unproductive and we let the venting go on, but when the venting died down, deleted it.
They are notorious for passing the buck and not accept responsibility.
After watching the video, you’re experiences with the company are not new to many people (myself included), as it’s part of the way they do business. You’re unlikely to find the solution to your problem here, but the way they treated you is not foreign. At least you had the option to return for refund. I tried doing it after a week of recieving my elite (because i saw the writing on the wall) and they told me to go to the secondary market.
It’s enough to know that it’s not just me. And thank you for sharing your story. This is the kind of diligence I should have done before purchasing but you don’t think about until it happens to you. I understand much better now.
Your mention of directional audio cracked me up. They like to use special words to make themselves sound like they know what their doing. One of the last customers i dealt with was having problems with his probe block (he would zero z, then try and do xy without relocating it off to the side of the block). They told him because he installed our unsupported spindle, he changed the polarity of the machine and the block wouldn’t work. To this day I still don’t know what they think that means. But if only your research made you consider the dominator
@hayeksplosives I’m very sorry to hear that this has happened to you. But, I do very much appreciate you drawing attention to this issue by making and posting your video. It seems that companies with bad customer support only come to light when customers like you come forward and make others aware. Unfortunately, I doubt Onefinity will change though.
I had a similar issue with OneFinity in November 2025. My issue did not involve mechanical problems, but support problems. I got so frustrated that I eventually posted on their Facebook page that I turned to PwnCNC to get the accessories I needed to get my CNC up and running. I was immediately booted from the Facebook page and all further contact with support was even worse.
As a result, I sold my Elite Foreman two months after receiving it and ordered A Dominator Pro. It was a good choice. I have found that PwnCNC is an honest company that truely does their best to support their customers.
Hopefully the new part will solve your problem and you will be up and running soon.
They have a compensated partner/owner/employee in charge of their social media. He closely watches for any negative feedback of their brand and has been known to delete or modify. If the censoring act garners more negative attention than the original negative review, only then will they re-instate original negative review. Classic 1F. Sienci Labs is a lot more transparent and honest.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I decided to let all the comments speak for themselves. I don’t think anyone will be that surprised by the outcome.
My friend, unless there is something else that’s not coming through in the audio, the sound you hear is the clicking of the bearings as they circulate around the ball screw. My machine does this also. After some time of use, as the oil inside gets dirty with dust, that sound will go away a bit. Then right after you give a good cleaning and oiling, (do this regularly), the clicking sound will return for a while. This is not a grinding noise you’re hearing. It just means everything is nice and clean. I completely understand your frustration in dealing with 1F and I applaud your diligence, patience, and creative way of shining a light on their disregard. But if the clicking sound is the only concern you have, you have nothing to worry about. Don’t give up, you’ve waited a long time and invested a lot into this. You’re good to go.
Then why doesn’t my Y Axis make the same noises? This breakdancing on what is normal/not normal vs no noise at all gets a bit tiresome to be candid. I’ve worked on a Laguna iq 2x3 and Laguna swift 5x10 and have never heard these noises. In fact, I’ve never heard ball bearings making these noises.
So what is the correct sound for bearings out of the box, brand new?
It does, it’s just more faint sounding. Mine does this also. I think it’s due to the weight of the gantry giving enough resistance that the balls don’t freely fall as they do on the x axis. I will take a video of mine before and after a cleaning. You will see that the clicking sound will return when it’s clean.
I’m disassembling it today to return it. After I remove the X axis I will double check the Y axis for the noise since the weight won’t be on it to verify what you’re saying.
I hope this works out for you. And I understand your frustration. But I think you don’t need to do anything more if the clicking sound is your only concern. The replacement will make the same sound. Best of luck.
It’s not a path I want to go down with Onefinity. I didn’t expect how many people would come forward with their stories and it’s really the previous owners commenting on this rollout that made the decision for me. Especially the guy who paid $6,000 and was a previous 1F customer and just as confused by these sounds as me.
It’s kind of been like going to a gym and asking how to work out. Everyone has a different explanation of what the noises are but overall everyone has negative things to say about 1F. I just don’t want to go down this path of ownership with them and there are too many inconsistencies in what they say, other people say, and what I experience. So ultimately I fall back on my experience and what I know.
Your video is the first I’ve seen up close of the rails / roller bearings on these new machines. (I have one of the first gen). Am I missing something? Or did they pretty much just cut out a section of the roller bearings in order to accommodate the ball screw shaft covers? If so… am I the only one who just instinctively thinks this is a BAD idea?
I just want to say that video was awesome with the AI opera singers! I had to watch it twice, one for skim reading the comments, and another for reading onefinitys response
