The V10 Dust Boot has been working well for me with my PwnCNC ATC, however I wanted to get a better view of the bit while cutting. So, I added the LED strip from a cheap Harbor Freight flashlight to the underside of the PwnCNC acrylic. Wow, what an improvement. I installed a LM2596 based DC-to-DC converter inside the MASSO G3 Touch to supply ~3V to the LED. The LM2596 has a high impedance enable which I wired directly to the MASSO. Because the LM2596’s enable is high impedance the current draw is far far below the max that the MASSO G3 Touch can provide.
The only issue I’ve run into is a bug in the MASSO firmware where the MDI Command / Light button doesn’t respect the F1 Setup / Invert status. The end result is that the MDI Light button status is inverted relative to the actual LED status.
