PwnCNC website addition: "Purchase Timeline"

We understand that PwnCNC is a small business, offering products that are still developing, and reliant on supplies that take time to arrive. When we place an order, we endorse the time it takes to work through these factors. That said, we invest more in a PwnCNC purchase than many other household purchases.

An order moves from ordering/paying, parts acquisition, machining, assembly and testing, packaging/shipping (and probably other definable steps). It would be great to have a process line or checklist, such that we could log in, enter an order number and see where our purchase exists on its timeline without interrupting anybody. Making a standardized timeline reporting tool need not take up company time, once it exists. Such a tool probably already exists internally. Please consider making a window through which we could peer at the process.

Having such a feature would only exaberate how long it’ll take since it would require going in and updating its time line.
If it was automated, it’s a crapshoot if it’s accurate.

There is a feature when you login to your account, but that’s limited to order viewing

After a couple of weeks if you haven’t recieved shipping notification you can always send an email to support@pwncnc.com, just know that they want your order out as well

We do use the Shopify system and there are many plugins available some do this sort of thing.
I’ll look into them but so many charge crazy amounts of money each month for the features it actually provides given the number of orders that would need such elaborate workflows.
This is probably the reason we haven’t looked into anything like this before… but i do like the idea.
As a customer (of other small businesses) i can definitely see the value in that sort of thing… it’s the cost i can’t help but get stuck on.
All of last year has been devoted to efficiency along with the launch of our two machines.
This year we’re removing inefficient products, adding low-effort products that are easier to stock and faster to ship… and building up our 3d printing store.
I’ve already got many of the things i’ve CNC’d planned for release as maker files. carvings, 3d prints, etc
