Wondering if there are any plans to support the new Onefinity Redline controller that they seem to be moving to now instead of the Masso. Not sure if it’s even capable of running a true ATC system or something that they’d purposely keep closed to their own ecosystem.
Its a HARD no for me, Masso has years of experiences with numerous machines so id stay on the masso pathway but if your considering redline give it some time like at least a year so see all the complaints or issues people face with it.
The interface is kinda basic looking too looks more like a toy
I’m not really considering it, just wondering from a compatibility perspective in the future in the event that 1F forces people’s hand to move over. Not sure what that would even look like and would probably move on before making the move. …just have a lot invested in the machine. It’s quite disappointing actually. If it came down to it it I’d move the Pwn CNC ATC to a different machine before adopting redline/rapidchange. The Pwn CNC ATC is that good and the masso seems to be much more feature rich and mature. Anyway, i’m talking about a scenario that probably won’t be necessary but was just curious.
I know a few of us have some pretty strong opinions about the Onefinity brand generally, but I think there’s one thing anyone who has ever used their original machines can agree on without bias. They absolutely suck at anything software related. They took someone else’s pretty decent design in the Black Box and managed to make it terrible. I wouldn’t touch anything controller related they designed from the ground up with a 10 foot pole.
From a purely objective point of view… if their spindle system is compatible than ours is too. It’s only a matter of a few, likely, very minor differences to make it work fully.
No one has asked… nor have we been asked if their spindle system will work on our machines… which, for the same reasons, yes it would work just fine. And we WILL support our customers even if it’s their spindle kit on our machine because customer success is our primary goal.
Truly the difference really comes down to which company you trust more and who provides the best customer support “for you”.
We’ve only just begun to build our eco-system with the launch of our best-in-class hobby CNC machine that nestles itself right in-between their starter-machines and the semi-pro Avid machines as far as price-point. Just like accessories, I have so many cool things planned and the Masso Controller and the relationship I’m building between PwnCNC and Masso is a huge part of the success of those plans.
Thanks for the reply. I apologize as I re-read my original post i wasn’t as clear as I should have been. I was meaning to ask specifically about the ATC system. I suppose it depends on what is implemented in the controller,…which isn’t very clear at this point.
I do wish the dominator was around back when making the original investment a few years back when purchasing a couple of machines. Thanks for all you do
