New Pwn VFD not recognized by Onefinity Pro controller

I have been testing our modbus controller with every VFD for correct connection before shipping, and they have all worked with our black-box controller. Hopefully everyone with this issue was able to get it resolved! Take care, Diana

Is that PWN answer to this problem Daniel? Now I have to contact 1F for support, I like others purchased Pwn for the ā€œplug_n_playā€ and the local support. I had to wait 4 weeks for my spindle order and it does not play right with the CNC it is intended for. I spent most of last night opening up the BB to get to the SD card then the headache of finding and getting the correct 1.3.1 build to reflash, THEN put everthing back together only to see the ā€œDisconnectedā€ message. Please help Daniel, don’t send me to the 1F email support~

Hi Clinton, Yes I saw that post, but mine had not the same outcome. All work just as the instruction, but the disconnected still stands. Has there been any further findings on this, or what am I to do now?

Thank you

When I turn on the VFD in auto mode the LED flashes 0.0, when I watched Daniel’s video his had ~ 1000 ~~ ish

Could this be something?

In a word the blinking number difference is NOT an indicator.

Have you followed the troubleshooting steps at the bottom of this article?

https://support.pwncnc.com/kb/article/112-onefinity-blackbox/

If it still doesn’t connect, send us an email at support@pwncnc.com with a video demonstration showing settings, connections, switches, and anything else that could be an indicator of the problem.

You’re last paragraph is what solidified me choosing to buy your spindle kit…it’s frustrating that 1F doesn’t even attempt to support them. Your support, by comparison, is outstanding and very welcomed to the ā€œspindle noobsā€ like me.
CNC robotics, not new…spindles are for sure.

Good morning!
Received my spindle kit last week and started the install yesterday. I connected the modbus cable and it showed ā€œtimed outā€. So, per the other responses I’ve read, I attempted to switch the wires going to pins 13 and 14 in the DB25 connector at the Black Box. I’m still getting the same ā€œtimed outā€ message after switching the tool back to disabled and then back to PWNCNC VFD. I’m running firmware 1.4.1. Anything you else you could recommend to troubleshoot? TIA

Weird your getting it both ways.

Have you tried anything else outlined Here

Just got the replacement cable. Hooked it up and instantly got an ā€œokā€ on the connection status. Tried the M3 S6000 in the MDI screen and spindle spun up perfectly. Hit the M5 command and it slowed as expected.
I’m good to go and ready to butcher some wood with the new spindle!! Thank you and the team so much!!

I can’t give you a step by step, but it means to reinstall the software, even if your preinstalled version is the current version.

Here’s the link to the latest firmware:

I think he’s recommending using the USB method of down/upgrading or reinstalling the firmware. It’s described there in that forum article.
