Finally got a chance to create a nicer wasteboard

I just had a piece of MDF with fences screwed to it because I had to start cutting HDPE as soon as I got the Elite going. I finally got ahead enough to have a week to add all the goodies…except for the ATC which should be arriving soon.
New wasteboard is slats mounted with threaded inserts embedded into the torsion box. The top is a full 1¼" thick and the threaded inserts are a full inch long… just in case I need to mounted something like a rotary.

This is an amazing idea. A base for your spoil board that makes swapping them out for fresh spoils super easy… love it!

This is how I set mine up. I’ll have to post it up. I didn’t want to put nutserts in the spoil board that have to be swapped every time. Didn’t make sense to me. So so all of them are permanent in the table.

That’s the same basic idea I had. I used 6061 1/4” aluminum plate on top of the base to augment the frame and make the sections of MDF easier to replace. I kinda went overboard by drilling and tapping all of the holes so I could use machine screws and I found this way cool tap that I could chuck up in a drill that made each hole take about 1 minute.
