Err06 After Each Line of G-Code

I am wondering if anyone has ever dealt with receiving an Err06 after each toolpath has been completed. Here is my scenario:

A couple of days ago I had to replace the dedicated computer that runs both my Shapeoko Pro XXL and my PwnCNC 80mm Air-Cooled spindle, In addition, to needing to re[place the computer, I also needed to make the entire table mobile so it could be rolled into the middle of the floor to finish a project I am working on.

During the “remodel,” everything was disconnected as it was relocated and mounted so it could be mobile. Of course, along with disconnecting everything that was connected to the previous compter, the PWM and spindle control cables were also disconnected from the FVD as everything was relocated. Once the new computer was mounted, the cables for all the connected devices like the Shapeoko Pro CNC and the Pwn CNC were connected and a test was conducted. It is important to stress that the PWM cable running from the VFD to the Shapeoko control board was not touched during this process.

After ensuring everything was reconnected, I fired up the Shapeoko and the VFD, I initialized the CNC, and ran a Spindle warm-up. At the end of the warm-up, the spindle slowly spun down, but continued spinning for another thirty seconds or so, then shut down as it should. However, I quickly noticed the VFD control board showed Err06, which required me to push stop/reset then run before the spindle could be used again.

Thinking that it could be a one-off, I loaded a simple test pattern that required two tool changes. Again, everything worked great up until the point where the first tool change was required. Just as before, the Shapeoko did its job and moved to the front right corner so the tool change could be completed, but the VFD display was once again showing Err06. I reset the VFD and ran the next toolpath with the same results. Are you starting to see the pattern here?

Believing that it could be a setup issue with swapping out the computers, I rewatched the Pwn CNC setup video with the Shapeoko voltage adjustment segment. As a result, I ensured the control knob was disabled and the PWM was controlling the spindle. I also ensured the spin-up and spin-down times were set to 4 seconds, and the voltage input was set to 5V. I checked all the connections and ensured that nothing is being restricted and everything is plugged into its proper slot on the VFD and the computer. Beyond that, I am at a loss as to why this is happening.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Because of this error, I am reluctant to use the machine, and I have a customer waiting for me to finish a rather large project. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I’m not sure what the cause is… but one solution the VFD manual is suggesting is to “delay the deceleration time”. This is setting P0.0.12 which factory is set to 20sec, but we’ve found through testing that 6sec is more than sufficient.
In your particular case, not sure why… but you may need to increase this to either 8sec or 10sec to avoid the Err06

I increased the deceleration to 6 seconds and no longer receive the Err06. Maybe it’s a Shapeoko thing. Thank you for the help.
