Have been having trouble with bits coming loose during cuts, checked shaft today and checks out horizontally as well as vertically with no tool installed. Once tool is installed regardless of collet size a very prominent wobble is visible in the bit shaft. This apparent out of round condition is what’s causing bits to come loose and creating ragged cuts. Any options to correcting this other than replacement?

It sounds like the collet isn’t installed in the nut correctly. You should hear a distinct snap and you should be able to turn the nut over and the collet not fall out

Had to push really hard the first time, seems to work fine now.
You shouldn’t have to push too hard.
Basically put them in at an angle, then push them from the side bringing them straight. To remove its roll back and snap out.
