Air pressure for tool changer

I am setting up a tool changer for the onfinity with my PwNCNC spindle. I am at max able to do 8lbs . I can manually change the tool with the button but when doing an auto tool change it does not drop or pick the tool automatically

Could the 1 lb be the problem?

Hi Anthony,
Are you referring to the tank volume?
When I first got my ATC, I tested it with a 6 gallon pancake, to see how many tool changes I can get done with the compressor off, and just on the tank volume. I believe I was in the ballpark of 20 with the 6 gallon before there wasn’t enough juice for it to open the jaws again. I did change tools from one spot, to the spot next to it, and thats important as air is blowing from the time you drop it off till the time you pick it up.

The 90 or 95 PSI is more important than tanks capacity.

The 8 lbs is at the gauge air pressure. The tank is 1 gallon

Thank you

Sorry 80 lbs of pressure, so I am 10lbs short of 90 that is requested

This is a good one. I have the aluminum version with the auto drain port, which does cost more, but to me it was worth it.

If you’re more on a budget, i see a few options at harbor freight for $160

Do you think that the 1 pound of pressure less is the problem?

Sorry again 10 pounds makes the issue

The psi? Quite possible but you not only have the jaws opening, but you have a low pressure stream coming out between drop off and pick up.
It might work, but manufacturer recommendation of 95 psi stand.
