What do you use your 4x4 for?

I am looking between the 3’x4’ and the 4’x4’ Dominator Core and struggling with the decision. Cost isn’t the determining factor for me, space is. Is there a compelling reason to go with 4’ over the 3’?

What items do you make on your 4x4 machine that couldn’t be done on a 3x4 machine? Most items I see people make are well under 3’

I have a regular customer who sometimes pushes the 4x4 limit and would push it more if he could. Most recently he had me cut him 43" circles out of 8/4 red oak. Since i have atc, the extra foot helps with other projects too, but i agree, if space is your limiting factor the 4x3 would probably suffice, but it all depends on what you plan on doing.

When i do smaller jobs im able to double them up. For example, i have a close and far project. The close project would be near the front and the far project would be towards the rear. Using work offsets i can remove and place one while it’s cutting the other. Not really a huge time saver but it can save about 2 minutes
