VFD Auto Feature Upgrade

Recently I followed the instructions provided to unlock my Shapeco 3 XXL to have the VFD auto forward feature. Ever since doing so, my spindle does not change speeds. Every time I make a tool change the speed remains at 24000 even though the program calls for a lower speed (9000). I am using Carbide Create to create the tool paths and Carbide motion to run the program. I’ve tried on a few different tool paths, but the same thing happens-stays at 24000. Other than that the update works great. Can you guys help me? What causing it tp remain at 240000 speed?
Thanks for your help

We can certainly help… sounds as though one or more of the settings were entered wrong.
Reach out to us at support@pwncnc.com and we’ll gladly help sort that programming out with you and get your system back up and running.

PS: just as an extra validation, open on eof your gcode files in a text editor and look for the M3S______ command. the S command says how fast… if you’re only seeing S24000 then the software is the issue. If you’re seeing s9000 then the vfd programming is the issue.

I sent them a email earlier

To caveat what Daniel said, if you have bit runner enabled, you’ll get 24k when commanding more than several hundred rpm. I don’t recall the rough number, but if memory serves right, it’s less than 1000 rpm.

In the mdi screen, type m3s1000, and if it goes 24k you can just type s900 and step it down till it doesnt go full tilt. M5 is the stop command

If you find out that you can only command X hundred rpm before it goes full tilt, you probably have bit runner enabled.

When i do that, I’m getting error code 02

Please help!!! I’ve re-entered the codes 1/2 dozen times. Now, when i load a file, Carbide goes through the motion and when its time for the spindle to start i get a Err02 code and the spindle doesn’t start!!

I just got off the phone with one of your Technicians, CHRIS SEDLOCK. I’ve had 0ccasions in the past to seek technical help from Carbide 3D and PWNCNC. I want to give a huge shout out to Chris Sedlock. He stayed on the phone with me for almost 1 1/2 hours but he was determined to resolve my problem and HE DID!!! Chris is one of the most knowledgeable, friendliest technicians I HAVE EVER spoken to. Please convey to him my sincere thanks for the time and effort he spent with me to get my machine (spindle) back up and running. WOW! this guy was GREAT!!! EVERY other manufacturers of CNC machines and accessories need to take a lesson from Chris and PWNCNC!
To the managers of PWNCNC………Hang on to this guy! He is GREAT!!!
