You can adjust your stepover, but also 3d carves take a while… I bump my feed and plunge up to 400ipm. It rarely gets there but it’s a 3d toolpath, provided your roughing and ~10% or less stepover the amount of material your removing with each pass is only shaving
I agree, 3 hours actual seems reasonable, but Aspires times are off quite often for me too, and I don’t pay attention to them
I really be scared of breaking a bit lol, 87 jobs in no bit breaks….. I had plunge at 25ipm and feed rate of 60 step over at 5% for tapper ball nose(skyline ultra fine) and the 3d clearing was 8% step over plunge rate of 30ipm
at 400 wouldn’t things get a bit stressed ?
You do you, but how much is the finishing pass actually taking away.
I do 400, and I’ve broken bits before, but not a tbn… even a 1/2” bit. 5% is pretty small stepover, try 8%. I doubt you’ll notice a difference. This is my larger TBN.
