Changing Axis Speed

The recommended axis speed on my Genmitsu 4040 Pro is listed as 2000mm/min I find this to be quite slow especially for 3d carving. I would like to increase this speed to 3000-4000mm/min. Just wondering what issues I might have beyond just wear and tear on my motors and lead screws?

I don’t have a ginmitsu but i have my machine set for maybe 400ipm or 600ipm i dont remember then i have a tbn for 200ipm both plunge and feed. I never get to that high in a 3d carve and can only get it on the straight lines. That’s how i know i have pushed it to its limit.

You also risk missing a step which is more probable the faster you go.

A faster plunge will allow the carves to go faster so start there

Thanks Chris, I will give that a try. Good point about missing steps I didn’t think about that.
