I have a 1finity Foreman Gen 1 with a 80 mm PwnCNC spindle. I use a PwnCNC V8 dust boot but it is too small for a 2 3/4" dia slab slayer. Does anyone know of a dust boot that is large enough to fit around this bit?
PwnBoot would be your greatest chance of success, but i have neither that boot nor the slab slayer your wanting to use but i understand why the v8 is too small.
Use promo code CHRISS to save a few bucks.
The first review of this dust boot says that it does not work with a 2" surface bit because the bit pushes the brush out of the way. Is there a dimensioned drawing showing the brush spacing around the back of the spindle or a photo of the underside of the piece that bolts onto the spindle?
Good call, but i don’t see a dimensional drawing on the website
I would yield to their experience. Not only is there the wind as the bit moves, but the dust collector is drawing the brush in.
Might have to go bootless.
Good morning, I have the same exact CNC and spindle. I do not have that cutter but I use a few 2.5 inch cutters and the boot I use and highly suggest is the Nighthawk. Just do a quick search and it will come up. I would communicate with the seller/maker and ask him to recommend a solution.
He is quick to respond and amazing to work with.
I didn’t notice any difference (performance wise) between the nighthawk and v10 (pwn boot predessor).
Pretty interesting, I cut an enormous amount of MDF using a large 140degree vbit that creates a massive amount of dust. My Nighthawkis the only boot that has worked but I have not used the PWN boot so cannot provide an educated opinion. 1200 cfm collector w/4 inch grounded hose with a separator works great for me.
Here is the reply that I received from Nick at solafidedesignskc@gmail.com
“The brushes are wider on the 80mm 4 inch to allow the dust collection to get enough air flow. But the 3 inch slab bit still won’t work in the 80mm 4inch.”
