Thanks I spent today laying out the lines and double checking clearances. Hope those dragchains aren’t too heavy…not room for a lot of sag the way I’ve set it up…but I have a lot of filament.
The original chains from onefinity are 15 x 20, the chain you see in this photo is a 18 x 37 it is on the x axis. It could possibly carry everything but it would be a stretch at best. I put this on to test length and flex. I’m pretty sure I’ll need to add a z axis chain to control all the lines from becoming snagged…
By the way ATC arriving this coming Tuesday. Same day as new cable chains, so I’ll be able to try a permanent installation at that time. I’m going to ignore dust collection at first, then work a solution for that.
So far it’s working out. I had to add the zip tie to keep it close to the hose, but it appears to be keeping things together. If i didn’t have it zip tied it would put move in a way you strain the connections
At this point, i can tell you for sure that drag chains are a drag…
I felt like I needed three hands to get it done. Not finished yet. Having to reprint bracket system as i have changed my drag chain sizes. Bending radius is a critical part of this design…
Yes , I tried those…when i received them the plates had quite a few broken off ears. I think they were packaged poorly. I returned them. I downloaded Ugly Dogs brackets and modified them to fit my situation. Just not happy yet.
