Assembly of Dominator ATC Pro

@Daniel

I got the rest of the gear today.

I began assembling the base tonight. I had unpacked all of the 8020 the night before. So far love how solid it feels.

Few issues I’ve seen thus far in manual.

  1. Manual list all the kit model numbers in the beginning like 5th leg upgrade, bed rigidity upgrade etc. But if you unpack all the 8020 even in groups some pc’s are similar in size and labeling (A,B,C). None of the kit models numbers are on the plastic wrap inside the boxes.

  2. Doesn’t tell you specifically what hardware to use for assembly. Example the leg kit comes with 10 pc’s and 3 or 4 bags of hardware, but you really have to do the deduction to figure it out what goes where. And I’m not sure I have it 100% right as I ended up with 4 left over anchors after installing the top back support.

  3. Some of the logic layout skips around and I had to repeat steps to add some hardware, example is you list to add 3 t nuts for the masso mount after the legs are install, but you can’t install the 3rd nut in the cross rail without removing the D leg again.

  4. There is no mention of when or how to install the 5th leg upgrade, bed rigidity upgrade , bed structure upgrade, or gantry upgrade in the manual so I’m lost on this part.

Some notes I made that might help are things like.

5th leg L Bracket 40-4302 uses bolts 13-8316 into roll-in t nut 13034 installed in bed rail. I installed t nut 3838 in the leg, not sure if this is right or should have been 40-3915, also don’t know where to attach the rest of the anchors that come with this kit yet.

For legs, Blocks 40-2365 install on each leg bottom with bolts 13-8525 and then foot 65-2202

Legs attach to frame with anchors 40-3102

If this information is useful I can keep making notes.

Thanks can’t wait to finish this bad boy.

Hang in there. It is very frustrating. I have been struggling through my assembly too. But I have been bring the issues to Daniels attention and he has been very responsive and is actively working to correct the issues. He has done both live and edited level set videos on YouTube. You should watch all of those if you haven’t already. They are slow at coming out and could be a little more detailed, but they are helpful. I have been working on mine for several weeks now and cannot go any further until he releases another video. The manual is not finished and I need an update to go further.

Unfortunately the manual has errors and seems to me to be missing important information. But Daniel is definitely working on this. I had a lot of issues with the hardware packages being wrong, but Daniel made those right by shipping out replacements. I have found more issues with hardware since , but I took care of that myself. So check out each item and make sure they are correct length and size etc. I think your posting here is a good idea and will help those who have not yet begun their assembly. At least until the manual is corrected and more videos come out.

Thanks Joe,

Defiantly not complaining as I know we are early adopters. Just want to help the process how ever I can.
