The PwnCNC name

I just learned about the term, “pwn” as an answer on a crossword puzzle. Not being a computer “gamer”, I didn’t know that a player who dominates the competition “owns” the loser. Further, I didn’t know that countless typo errors by people who “own” the competition were written so that they “pwn” the competition. Apparently “pwn” is pronounced like, “pone” (rhymes with “cone”).

So now, even the company’s choice for its CNC machine (“Dominator”) also makes sense.

I had an idea on a pseudo orgin story for a video that never came to fruition.

I’m with you and am sure it was originally intended to be “own”, but someone missed the o and hit p and went with it while gaming… the rest is history.

Just now seeing this! Yes, that’s true, Daniel was thinking of the gamer slang and wanted something fun…. a few teens that worked for us a while back said that “pwn” was only a thing for a few years in the early 2000’s and it was outdated already, LOL.
