Hi folks, should the bare ground wire in the spindle control cable be attached to the 4th terminal on the RS485 connector like shown? The videos I’ve seen only show a cable with 2 wires (ie. no ground), and have seen some people suggest that the ground should just be attached to the chassis of the SLB. Whats the verdict?

Correct, it’s not necessary and is for the 5v signal in the neighboring port, which is not used for our vfd’s when using modbus
