With how expensive these are they should come with some sort of a hybrid table like the Shapeoko 5 Pro.
That’s a great point. Larger companies like Carbide3D have more resources and can build certain extras into their machines. As a smaller company, we focus our efforts on delivering a strong, adaptable platform, and we can’t always buy in the same bulk quantities to offset rising costs.
With the Dominator Pro, we built in an extremely rigid base frame designed so you can easily add either MillRight’s t-track plates or your own MDF hybrid bed. The Dominator Core includes 3 or 4 heavy-duty horizontal t-tracks that help keep the Y’s parallel with each other and let you build a hybrid setup on top of them.
We personally love the new t-tracks from IDC Woodcraft. A really solid option is to start with a ½” MDF bed, add their t-tracks, and then use ¾” MDF slats in between.
For both machines, we made sure to maximize Z-capacity so you can dedicate 1.25–1.5” of that space to whatever hybrid bed system works best for your workflow.
This way you have flexibility to build the exact table that suits your style of projects, whether that’s a simple MDF spoilboard, a heavy t-track system, or a full hybrid bed.
