The issue with that is the tubes get farther away from the neutral axis of the power chain. This can lead to the tubes stretching or contracting and popping out of the clip
@beakerlink I finally got my X1C repaired and working properly! Did a test print of your part with PLA. It came out really nice. Though it still overhangs the table more than I would like. Ill be installing a rapid change atc eventually and really want to place it on the left side of the machine as thats where all the wiring runs to. Your model does overhang the Y rail by about 5/8” or so. I understand about how you need the hoses near the neutral axis of the power chain. How about this. Change your design slightly by cutting off the outer hose clip support and rotating it 180 degrees and placing it on top of the inboard hose clip support. So you would have one pointing down and the other on top of it point up. By my calculations both clips will still be near the neutral axis and the clip wont extend past the Y rail? Is this something thats easy to change?
That wouldn’t take me too long, but I am absolutely swamped right now, the next time I can work on it is going to be around Wednesday the 27th
oh I get it.. Ive been the same way. Had my Altmill for about 3 weeks now and im still on the cable chain! Been busy with things that needed done right away in the shop because my youngest was going off to college! Glad to say, we got her moved into her new dorm with a couple pieces of quick and dirty cabinets that I built.
I have friends with 3-D printers. Where do I get the .stl file?
