Hi,
Context: I had some VFD errors, which I believe were low voltage issues (that I believe I fixed), and the machine kept running after the spindle stopped, which obviously is not good, so I’m trying to prevent that from ever happening again.
I’m trying to configure the fault relay output on my PwnCNC pre-programmed VFD to trigger a Feed Hold on my OpenBuilds BlackBox V1 controller when the spindle faults.
I’ve wired the normally-open fault relay (TA/TC terminals) to the BlackBox Feed Hold input, which works (I can see it work in the log) — but it is triggering during normal end-of-job stops, (not allowing the machine to fully get to origin and run the coolant/vacuum stop commands) and not just on faults.
According to my research with Claude I need to change a VFD parameter to fix this behavior. I can confirm that I’m unable to get any setting beyond PD0.0.25 and unable to change PD0.0.00 to any value other than 1. Claude told me to tell you this:
I need to change PD052 from 2 to 3 (fault-only relay output), but PD000 is set to 1 (parameters locked) and I’m unable to change any values. The arrows do nothing when I’m on the value edit screen.
Can you tell me how to unlock parameters on the pre-programmed VFD, or confirm whether PD052 can be changed?
Does that approach make sense? Am I going about this the right way, or is there a better approach with using other terminals on the VFD?
Thank you,
Adam
