Demon controller/ new spindle

I have a CNC4NEWBIE 4510 with a DEMON. Just got my spindle installed and Have a couple questions:

  1. For it to run should I have to push run first and then PWM control the speed?
  2. I changed the voltage to 5 Volts so It would get the right dirty voltage from the Arduino/Demon. I assume that was correct.
  3. The biggest issue. When I run the spindle off the PWM/Arduino/Demon it gets about 5 minutes into a cut and then quits. Tried with Dust Collection, Without, Running through Open Builds Software and Picsender but I can’t get it to run a file I ran previously with Router and IOT relay using PWM Slot. When I disconnect the PWM from VFD and set it up manually it works. Ive checked grounds are tied together and the other colors from the VFD wire are taped off. Ill assume its some kind of stray voltage backfeeding into Demon?

Some controllers require that, stay tuned for updates

If you command 12k rpm and it goes somewhere near there (not 6k for example), yes, that is correct.

#3, that is odd. The spindle will only do what it’s told and if the controller stops sending the voltage to the vfd, then it can and will stop. I would investigate the voltage output in a dry run of the controller

Will do thanks chris!
