hahaha. Yes and thank you. To often the FB and truly the other forum delete and control the narrative.
Our goal is definitely to be a sort of neutral ground, where anyone can come and share so long as it’s constructive and respectful. If negative feedback is posted, please follow it with a way to improve your situation or ask the community for help on doing so.
We want everyone supported with their hobby so they continue with it and grow as makers.
This will also help internet locations that blocking FB and support people without FB account.
I’ve never had a FB account and never will.
Is there significant pwn content up there that hasn’t been moved over?
The bulk of the content is on the website in our knowledge base https://support.pwncnc.com/home/. Unfortunately, it’s not an avenue to ask for clarification without opening a ticket.
We’re a small team so managing multiple avenues can be difficult.
Id like to think here is for time sensitive information or information that has an expiration date on relevance, or an opportunity to interact with us and each other directly not on Facebook.
Then the kb is for information that may be updated as new information is brought up, but doesn’t necessarily lose value with time… if you understand the difference.
I would much rather link a KB here than copy paste that information because then it creates conflicts with updates.
Everytime I hear about community guidlines I think of this video:
For context, it was released September 2020
If it helps, I think this is a great configuration.
Since I wrote that, I have been reading all of the support articles relevant to me by walking all the folders. I found that really easy to do.
Not sure if his forum has an API, it it might be helpful to start a category for support updates. If the support site could make a forum entry each time a support article was created or updated, it would become easy to keep up with it as the content there moves forward.
I don’t think it’s needed right away, just an idea.
It’s not a bad idea at all, and if it’ll help you get answers to FAQs, I’ll do it!
Maybe I’ll start a locked thread for kb updates.
I did map every article as of a week or 2 ago, and have been going thru them checking for outdated or conflicting information, basically finished that with the exception of the spindle folder (biggest one). I do need to go thru and dress right dress the tube bundle tutorials.
With all that information there I know it’s hard to know when new articles are published.
I have a couple other things on my plate at the moment, but I’ll add it to the list and hopefully make some progress this week.
Stay tuned, thank you for the suggestion!
@Chris I like the direction you all taking. I agree with @Briantopping that FAQ and all the document in one place was great. I did also read through all of the documents I taught I should read.
