I have printed a maglock ring with PLA from the makers files which I bought from PwnCNC. I bought 50 6 mm diameter x 4 mm thick magnets from PwnCNC. What is the trick for pushing the magnets into the holes on the ring? Heat the plastic with boiling water? Heat the magnets with a soldering iron?

if the print calibrates right you should be able to at least push them at least half way in or so just with your hand, I finished with a few light tap of my hammer. I had to do an XY hole compensation setting in my slicer before it worked well.

I followed this guide and models to figure out the number to enter for that. [https://makerworld.com/en/models/484148#profileId-396476](https://makerworld.com/en/models/484148#profileId-396476)

Thank you for the help. I resorted to using a counter sink bit to flair the edges of the openings then hammering the plastic down over the magnet on my cast iron table saw top. I will try your suggestion in the morning.

Another easy way to ease them in is to take a drill bit that is approximately the same diameter as the magnet and flip it backwards (cutting area up) or use a piece of drill stock and lightly chuck it in a drill press. Place the magnet at the bottom in the orientation you want and use the drill press to press the magnet into the piece. This works really well. When I design 3D parts that take magnets, I make the tolerances tight so that when I push the magnet in, no CA glue is required and the magnet will stay in place.

Try not to heat the magnets, I have had that weaken the magnetism making it useless!

For production we use a arbor press but we are installing thousands of magnets at a time but since most woodworking shops don’t have a arbor press you can easily use a drill press. It will work without a rod or anything for the Maglock Rings. Another thing I have used is the vise-grip style tools that come with a Kreg (pocket hole) jig. Those have those round rings that apply even pressure and make it pretty easy.

The Kreg vise grip tool is exactly what I used on mine and it worked like a freaking charm!!! Saved me from having to stand in front of my drill press. LOL
