I love the the accordion boot and the fact the you were able to achieve complete coverage with the brushes. I really like the Sidekick I have from Ugly Dog Woodshop but that’s one downside is there isn’t full coverage. The majority of the time it gets most of the chips but if it’s heavy and throwing to the rear they can get missed at times.
And I appreciate it man but not rushing you, I know it’s probably a feat to document.
Hey just checking in, any update?
Hey Chris, I took a stab at ver 5.07 in Masso. Linear tool change 1 logic. At step 8 in the tool change Logic it retracts the tools just before it starts the slide in and out moves. This is exactly what the documentation says it would do.
So my question is why slide the tool tray up and then retract it, before you get an opportunity to load the tools…
Chasing some bigger problems at the moment, but will post soon. Working out some new kinks. Reverted to ver 5.07 from 5.100b beta, most users are not gonna jump into beta. So I’m trying to hurdle some issues in ver5.07.
Sounds like you need another wire and a double acting solenoid
It sounds like in your setup, tool tray up and when it’s high it’s up, when it’s low it’s down.
Step 14 is where I’m reading it’ll retract
Well I have a double acting solenoid, I beleive it says if you only use one sensor other settings will be ignored
I tried that setting you suggested earlier, but it still retracts in the logic at step 8. I cant see a way to keep it in position because the logic keeps pulling it back. This does not occur in the beta 5.100b
I searched the Masso Forums and found another user asking the same question, but no one provided any insight into this.
You’re in unchartered territory as far as we’re concerned, so we yield to your experience.
I would suggest opening a bug report with masso that it doesnt work as advertised
Yeah I briefly updated to the beta and immediately encountered several bugs that I wasn’t willing to deal with and immediately went back to my previous version. The beta is definitely not ready yet from what I observed
Reading that again it sounds like it’s still working.
Ignoring the input in the logic that hasn’t come yet sounds like what it should do
Not sure I follow…it is retracting the tool tray at step 8 in the logic. No way around it. But how do you explain the retraction ahead of the tool slide. In the new beta version its the same logic moves but the step 8 retraction has been removed. Thats why I was able to make the videos. I’m also pretty sure it was why I left 5.07 behind.
The Masso community forum has been no help at all. Its deathly silent on this subject.
The tool change output 3 goes high, causing the tray to go out.
Then with step 8 it goes low, and does not mention it retracting.
It only retracts when tool change 4 goes high in step 14 which pushes it closed.
This to me means it needs to have an air blast to open the solenoid, then it stays open (does not retract when air is removed), then an air blast to close it from a different port. A jagged line on your solenoid would signify a retracting spring… you dont want one with a retracting spring, you want one that when open will hold its position even when air is removed. Then a burst of air to close it.
At least that’s what I’m interpreting
It is a bug in the software. Just got this reply from Brezzy in the Masso community Forum
Searched the forum for reports of tool tray problems and found the same ones you placed comments on today.
I was looking for the post that I have replied to.
I thought the problem had been introduced into the beta software but looking at the posts it has been around longer than that.
In beta the tool tray inputs & outputs have been moved outside the main logic stream with calls to the tool tray logic.
You need to raise a bug report with MASSO Support. support@masso.com.au
I’m surprised that it had not been reported earlier.
Yep, I have the correct cylinder…
Well, glad to hear you narrowed down the problem. Wonder how long it will take them to patch it though…
They said next release, but no time frame. But that said, beta is approaching 1 year old i think…
Yeah that’s what worries me, I’ve been kinda disappointed how long it’s taken them to make software improvements. Hopefully that means it will be dialed in once it does release, though ![]()
Hey just checking in, any progress?
