Nice video! I watched the whole thing yesterday. Too bad I purchased my 2nd CNC just before you announced the Dominator. ☹
I would dub in “Newton meter” to fix the “nanometer” flub. Mixing up length with torque is a potential credibility red flag for new customers.

Even if you have someone else’s machine we totally want your feedback and insight. The more of us contributing to this awesome hobby the better IMO.
Maybe your 3rd machine will be our Dominator 😉
I will try and figure out how to do that in youtube… great advise!

Right there is the reason for wanting to use PwnCNC products. Outstanding product and detailed video. Even a person new to the hobby will be able to make an informed decision.
I now have a reason to empty out my 8 x 12’ workspace, sell my CNC machine and start over with a Dominator. Great job on the prototype, Daniel. The success of PwnCNC is assured because of your commitment to keep in touch with your users and to keep improving the products you offer.
The general look and design of the machine will match it with some well known machines like the offerings from Avid and Stepcraft. I missed the discussion of controller and software (CAD/CAM) that a new user would want to understand and think a mention of the options may sit well in that initial video. All in all… congratulations are due to the team at PwnCNC.

We have CarveCo setup so far… so you’ll have a free year of their software when we’re done.
We’re still sorting out details with Vetric.

Good to see Carveco software in the frame. I have used it for a couple of years and really like it. There are numerous training video clips that may help folk to make decisions. Even in its cheapest form, it does not limit the user to size like Vectric software.

I’m really itching to pull the trigger on pre-ordering a Dominator, but I have a few questions first:
1. Roughly how long will the pre-order window (and its associated discount) be available?
2. As of today, based on how things are progressing, when do you estimate production units will be ready to ship?
3. How confident are you in supporting Z-axis-independent dust boots (v3 or v9) right out of the gate?
4. I don’t see an option for ordering a second (additional) spindle mount, is this still a thing for the initial release?
Also, I really appreciate the “Daily Update” shorts—thank you for taking the time to post those! I know you’re super busy, but I’m really looking forward to seeing a near-final production version of the machine in action, especially doing some carvings.

There are limitations with offering the 60% up front charge vs 100%. If it was 100% there are plugins that allow for a slew of questions and adding the associated products to your cart. Those options are not available with the 60% option is selected. That is why there are so many flavors of the “same” machine.

1. we have it set to 120-150 days from order. The site shows a date as to when the 40% is expected by. If we are early we’ll reach out to you early and coordinate the final payment.
2. Things are progressing awesomely. Derek and team over at Mill Right in Georgia are carving our aluminum parts now.
They’re expecting to be done with all parts by end of this month and shipping to us. We’ll then take those parts, bead-blast them in-house and anodize them black in our facility.
The only outstanding parts we’re waiting to arrive any-day-now is the linear rails and ball screws. Those should also be here by end-of-month if all goes well.
By mid-May we’ll have our first production machine and making carving videos and what-not for social media. Then we’ll start shipping the first pre-orders for those ahead of you in line.
3. We’re still in a lul waiting for parts and i’m running a carving now on the prototype Dominator. Over the next few weeks i’m hoping to get z-independent boots functional on the machine. I’m 70% confident i can have them available right out of the gate.

The linear rails and ball screws have arrived for the Dominator!
Daniel has been posting daily updates as we build out our warehouse. Beefing up filament and 3D print area while we await other CNC parts. MillRight’s parts will most likely be next!
