I’m sure this is something I’ve done wrong or not configured properly. The problem is when I run the t#m6 command the spindle rises to the specified height (5.0496), moves to the tool holder Y position (T1: 4.3140), lowers only a few mm and drops the tool (should lower to -0.3167).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What controller are you using, Masso? What are your settings?

0 is the top, and -.3167 is just over a quarter inch from the top.
Check your machine height again and put that value in

I am using the MASSO controller. I followed the instructions in the videos and am not sure what else I can do.
Pick and Place Z Position is set to -0.31670
Z Clearance is set to 5.04900 (Is all the way up as far as the machine will go)
X Position for all tools is 0.00000
Y Position for T1 is 4.31400
" T2 is 6.49610
" T3 is 8.67370
" T4 is 10.82990
Im not sure where to go from here.

I think I might see where the problem is. When I Auto Tool Zero for T1 it shows -4.71063 in the Z Offset. The position for Z on the Jog screen says 0.3488 at the Tool Setter.

Computers are dumb and do what you tell it to. Your z position being -.3176 is wrong, and instead you need to do it according to the machine coordinates.

Did you watch the video I filmed just for you for the situation in question above?

Don’t confuse yourself with trying to correlate the tool setter and ATC settings. That offset is a machine offset from the arbitrary point that your tool setter registers at

Chris,
I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate your help. I did not watch that video (ATC Programming) because when I saw the first (Pick and Place Location - PwnCNC I assumed this was one of the many I had already watched so I apologize for making that assumption.

This morning I was able to try what you have in the video and while I have some finetuning to do it worked like a champ. Thank you so much for all your help with this issue.

Last I have a network engineer for 30ish years and I have to make one small correction to something you said “Computers are dumb and do what you tell it to.” I say Computers do what the dummies tell them to do. Thank you again for all your help Sir.
